Allyson Felix

Allyson, who hails from Los Angeles, has won a clutch of major medals, including one Olympic and four world championship golds together with two Olympic silvers. She won silver in the women’s 200m at both the Athens and Beijing Games and gold over the same distance at the 2005 and 2007 worlds. Her Olympic gold came in the 4x400m relay at Beijing.

1: Was your talent spotted at an early age?

When I was about 14-years-old and came out for my high school track team.

2: What is your greatest achievement to date?

Winning silver and gold medals at the Athens Olympics.

3: What is your favourite training session?

Doing repeat 150m.

4: Who’s your best friend in athletics?

Joanna Hayes.

5: How important is diet and nutrition to you?

It's becoming more important as I get older and understand I need the right things to fuel my body.

6: Describe the atmosphere at a big event?

Big events always have a huge crowd with great energy; it's intense, there is a feeling of wanting to achieve greatness.

7: What’s been your worst injury?

I've been blessed not to have had any horrible injuries. But, straining my hamstring in 2006 caused me to miss some of my season.

8: How do you stay motivated and focused?

I always think about my goals and wanting to use my talent to the best of my ability.

9: What’s the best piece of advice anyone has given you?

To always keep God as my number one priority and focus.

10: What’s your greatest ambition?

To leave this sport being remembered for great performances and a successful career.
